From my perspective, mass spectrometry is a booming field of research with a fair number of job opportunities. This is not a help wanted or jobs wanted page, and will not showcase specific jobs or specific people looking for work. Rather, this page is intended as an outline of the types of jobs available for people of various degrees of expertise, education, and interest. The primary division of this page will be between jobs in industry and jobs in academia; with attention secondarily paid to the level of expertise that might be expected for such a job.
For those looking for immediate resources for job opportunities or job candidates, I would strongly recommend checking with any of the major mass spec or proteomics societies:
These groups - as well as others not listed here - often keep job posting boards for members and associates.Chapter 7: Current Research And Development in Mass Spectrometry | Mass Spectrometry For Dummies | Chapter 9: Background Papers and References |
